Podiatry
Podiatry treatment may include areas of the skin and nails, ankle injuries, foot injuries, foot complications related to diabetes and other medical conditions as well as problems with standing, stepping or walking.
Podiatrists play a very important role in monitoring disease and managing lower limb issues.
Patient demographics can be wide. The range can extend from monitoring and managing sports injuries, working with people with chronic disease, working with people with a disability, working with the ageing population and children’s growth and development.
A referral is not needed to see a Podiatrist. Some funding schemes do however require a referral from your doctor.
All Podiatrists must meet and hold the registration requirements of the Podiatry Board of Australia.
